IPL Photofacial in Miami.
The sun-damage reset for fair-to-medium skin.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) — and the modern broadband-light evolution from Sciton, BBL Hero — uses targeted wavelengths of light to fade brown spots, capillaries, and overall redness. It's not technically a laser; it's broad-spectrum light filtered to target specific chromophores.
IPL is most powerful in patients with fair-to-medium skin, sun damage from years of Florida living, and visible diffuse redness. We use BBL Hero, currently one of the fastest IPL systems available.

What is IPL Photofacial?
IPL Photofacial, in plain English.
Products we use
- Sciton BBL Hero
BBL Hero (Sciton) delivers high-fluence pulsed light through filters that select for melanin (pigment) or hemoglobin (vascular) targets. Pigment lifts to the surface and flakes off; capillaries collapse and resorb.
IPL is most effective on Fitzpatrick I–III. We do not perform IPL on Fitzpatrick V–VI; alternative pigment treatments (Cosmelan, low-fluence Moxi) are safer for those skin tones.
What to expect

Consultation
Skin tone assessment is non-negotiable. We will turn down patients who aren't candidates.
02
Treatment
30 minutes. Eye shields, gel, light pulses. Heat sensation; topical numbing optional.
03
Recovery
Pigment darkens for 3–7 days then flakes off ('coffee grounds'). Vascular response — mild redness 24–48 hours.
04

Pigment clearance at 1–2 weeks. Series of 3 for full reset; annual maintenance after.
