Laser hair removal is one of the most validated cosmetic procedures in medicine. With the right laser for the right skin type, six to eight sessions reduces hair density by 80–95%. Without the right laser — particularly in darker skin — it's the cause of more emergency-room burns than any other aesthetic procedure.
We use the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus — a dual-wavelength platform with both Alexandrite (755nm, for fair skin) and Nd:YAG (1064nm, safe for all skin tones, including Fitzpatrick V–VI). We choose the wavelength per patient.

Laser hair removal targets melanin in the hair follicle. The laser pulse is absorbed by the pigmented hair, conducting heat to the follicle base and damaging it without affecting surrounding skin. Multiple sessions are needed because only follicles in active growth phase respond.
We treat all skin tones. Fitzpatrick I–III on Alexandrite, IV with caution on either, V–VI on Nd:YAG only. Patient burns from the wrong wavelength on darker skin are unfortunately still common in Florida; we follow strict protocols.

Skin type and hair color assessment. Test patch on at-risk skin.

Treatment
15–60 minutes depending on area. Cryogen pre-cooling minimizes discomfort.

Recovery
None. Mild pinkness for an hour. Avoid sun and hot showers for 24 hours.

Results
Visible thinning after 2–3 sessions. Six to eight sessions, 4–6 weeks apart, for full reduction.
Who's a candidate
